Privacy Policy

Last updated on April 22, 2026.

Stroud Water Research Center (“we” or “us” or “our”) respects the privacy of our users (“user” or “you”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our Shared Waters Mobile Application (the “App”). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THE TERMS OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY, PLEASE DO NOT ACCESS THE APPLICATION.

Collection of Your Information

As part of a current National Science Foundation-funded research project, Stroud Water Research Center collects some information from the use of this App. This app is initially intended for use by students and teachers in an education research project.

The only student discussions with AI STEM career avatars that will be analyzed for research purposes are from those who have already consented to be involved in the research. Non-identifying user analytics will also be collected. This data includes typical web-based user analytics, such as user clicks to view different augmented reality macroinvertebrates. Users who are not in the research project may use the app; their data will be deleted and not analyzed. No login is required, and the app does not collect user names or similar identifying information.

Disclaimer: This material is based upon work supported by the National Science Foundation under Award No. 2445736, 2445737, 2445738. Any opinions, findings, and conclusions or recommendations expressed in this material are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the views of the National Science Foundation.
